Pulmonologist - Lung Transplant Program - Faculty (Open Rank)

The Division of Pulmonary & Critical Care at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) seeks a board certified / board eligible faculty physician (open rank) for our expanding Lung Transplant Program. This position is located in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital.

• Opportunity to build a strong academic career within a collaborative, multidisciplinary transplant team

• Active involvement in the evaluation of patients being considered for lung transplantation, as well as the ongoing care of patients who have already undergone transplant

• Both inpatient & outpatient activities. Inpatient care will focus on managing transplant candidates & post-transplant patients during hospitalization, working closely with surgery, critical care, infectious disease, & other specialty teams. Outpatient care will include pre-transplant assessments, longitudinal post-transplant follow-up, & participation in multidisciplinary transplant clinics.

• The Transplant Center at Froedtert Hospital offers exceptional care for adults who need heart, lung, kidney, liver & pancreas transplants. Comprehensive adult transplant programs certified by Medicare & Medicaid, offering survival rates that meet or exceed national benchmarks

• A joint program of Children's Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital, the academic medical center of the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network, with vital support by Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin for tissue typing & research initiatives. • Research: To fully optimize patient care and outcomes, Froedtert Hospital participates in national & and international research studies focusedon solid organ transplant. Innovative studies conducted in cooperation with the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and pharmaceutical companies concentrate on discovering best practice transplant approaches & long term survival

• A joint program of Children's Wisconsin and Froedtert Hospital, the Transplant Center operates with vital support by Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin for research initiatives & tissue typing

• Multidisciplinary Approach and Continuity of Care: Our pulmonary & critical care physicians have broad experience in the evaluation & treatment of patients with advanced lung disease, and we remain closely involved in the care of patients after a transplant

• Leadership: Dr. Julie Biller attended medical school at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She stayed in Chicago, at the University of Chicago, for her Internal Medicine Residency as well as her Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship. As a lifelong Packer fan, she returned to Milwaukee in 1990, and
  joined the MCW faculty practicing at Froedtert Hospital and Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. Dr. Biller provides care for adults with a wide variety of pulmonary conditions. Along with this, she established the Adult Cystic Fibrosis program, providing care for these individuals, participating in clinical research, and educating medical providers & the public about cystic fibrosis.
