El Dorado Disposal, a Waste Connections company, is looking to hire a safety conscious Buy Back Center Attendant/General Laborer to join our team in Placerville, CA!

This position supports daily operations across the Material Recovery Facility (MRF) and associated sites. The employee will work at Buy Back Centers during peak summer months and Traffic Director/Yard Laborer duties during the winter season. This role requires flexibility, a strong safety mindset, and the ability to perform physical work in a fast-paced industrial environment.

The schedule will be Tuesday - Saturday 8AM - 4:30PM.

Starting pay will be $23.00 per hour. The pay range for this job is $21-$23/hour.

Responsibilities Include:

Buy Back Centers (Primarily Summer Months)

  • Assist customers with the redemption and purchase of recyclable materials.

  • Sort, count, weigh, and process recyclable commodities accurately.

  • Provide courteous and professional customer service.

  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized customer and processing areas.

  • Handle cash and transactions according to established procedures (if assigned).

Traffic Director / Yard Laborer (Primarily Winter Months)

  • Direct vehicle traffic to ensure safe and efficient flow within yard areas.

  • Assist customers and drivers identify proper dump locations.

  • Perform general yard labor, including site maintenance and cleanup.

  • Monitor safety conditions and communicate hazards to supervisors.

Requirements:

  • At least 2+ years of work experience, preferably in a labor type position.

  • Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, lifting, bending, and working outdoors for extended periods.

  • Basic communication skills and ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

  • Dependable attendance and flexibility with scheduling and work assignments.

  • Strong attention to safety and detail.

  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds regularly.

  • Willingness to work rotating roles based on seasonal needs.
