Position summary:

Facilitates the safe installation and maintenance of company facilities for compression and field services. Required to respond to after-hour callouts due to equipment and/or operational problems and must be willing to work overtime including nights, weekends and holidays.

Pay Range: $30.95 - $43.95 per hour (Determined by the current Collective Bargaining Agreement)

Reporting Relationship: Manager, Gas Operations

Location: Riverton, Rawlins or Casper Wyoming

Essential Functions:
* Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain structural, mechanical (such as compressors, engines, pumps, etc.) and electrical equipment (such as ignition systems, engine shutdown controls, cooling fan controls, etc.) and/or auxiliary equipment (such as generators, air compressors, etc.).
* Overhaul compressors, engines, turbines, motors, and auxiliary equipment.
* Provide training to operators on proper operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
* Perform engine/compressor performance analysis. Interpret lubricating oil, coolant and other operating reports.
* Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all facilities and equipment as needed.
* Oversee the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by second/third parties.
* Identify report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
* Complete appropriate documentation and paperwork timely and accurately.
* Perform all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory and tariff requirement.
* Inspect second/third party construction activities as required.
* Mentor fellow employees when the opportunity presents itself.
* Apply mechanical knowledge of and to process plant equipment.
* Communicate and coordinate effectively with internal employees, second/third party contractors, and vendors.
* Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company employees and assets, and the general public.

Additional Responsibilities:
* Some travel will be required.
* Other duties as required.

What Is Required:
* High School Diploma or equivalent
* Minimum of 1 year of experience in mechanic work for a Natural Gas Utility, or other relevant work experience that has developed equivalent technical/measurement-related skills.
* Valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers upon hire.
* Class A CDL License within 180 Days of hire.
* Must obtain a DOT Medical Certificate as required within 30 Days of hire.
* Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)
* Good verbal and written communication skills, including ability to work from written and verbal instructions.
* Must have a working knowledge in the use of common software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Candidates should also possess the ability to troubleshoot basic computer issues and have the capacity to learn new software and technologies as needed.
* Must be a self-starter capable of working independently in solitary environments as well as collaboratively within a team. Candidates should be able to take direction from supervisors, adhere to job schedules, maintain attention to detail, and follow established work rules.
* Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills, and listen carefully.
* Maintain a regular, dependable attendance, and high level of performance.
* This position requires driving responsibilities. You must hold and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company and insurer standards.
* This role will be required to travel up to 25% of the time.

What Is Desired:
* Associate's Degree in a technical or related field
* Detailed knowledge of mechanical equipment, internal combustion engines, gas turbines, pumps, compressors, and related equipment.
* Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches, and other diagrams.
* Knowledge and experience in safe handling practices of flammable gases, liquids and high pressure systems.
* Knowledge of company policies and practices, and regulatory and tariff requirements.
* Note: The KSAs listed as "desired" indicate the level of proficiency upon hire at Level 1. Upon hire and completion of training, these KSAs transition to "required" for the higher Mechanic levels.
