Position Overview

The Buyer, Local Investment role at Mediabrands is responsible for negotiating, placing and maintaining Local video and audio buys on behalf of our clients. Negotiators must work collaboratively with other disciplines such as Strategy, Communications Design, and Client Advisors. The position requires a strong aptitude for buying and the ability to multi-task. A high level of attention to detail, organization, and the ability to work under pressure is required. A Buyer will always exhibit a collaborative and fair demeanor with media partners to honor the Initiative culture and service commitments we declare in the marketplace.

Responsibilities



  • Provide superior customer service to clients and assist in preparing presentation materials and POVs
  • Collaborate with various teams and external partners, communicate effectively, and train associates
  • Place, confirm, and monitor media buys, manage added value and promotional executions
  • Monitor market conditions, offer solutions to problems, and pull research reports as needed
  • Execute day-to-day account activities, including stewardship, buy entry, monitoring, and discrepancy resolution
  • Develop and maintain media partner relationships, negotiate pricing and added value executions
  • Ensure understanding of MAGNA and IPG Mediabrands priority media partners
  • Maintain prioritization: 10% client, 50% internal, 40% commercial



Required Skills and Experience



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid negotiating skills and experience collaborating with Strategy and Communications Design teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word
  • Knowledgeable in media math
  • Proficient with MBox or equivalent Inventory Management system



Desired Skills and Experience



  • Able to work as part of a team in a deadline-driven, high-pressure environment
  • 1+ years of Media experience. Preferably as a Partnerships Associate Skills
  • Proven problem solving ability
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and multi-tasking capabilities

The salary range for this position is posted below.
