Methodist Hospital is looking to hire an Environmental Services Supervisor - to join our - team! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

The Environmental Service and Transport Supervisor provides supervision for the Methodist Hospital Environmental Service & Centralized Transport operations, consisting of approximately 170 employees providing 24x7 services. Responsible for the development of policies, procedures, standard work. Partner with IS&T for technical processes, employee health, safe patient handling, emergency preparedness, Hospital Nursing and Ancillary Leadership. Manage relationships and processes that support hospital equipment. Responsible for hiring, performance management, coaching, mentoring, training with competency of staff to ensure services are professional, accurate and timely. Monitor department stats and match staffing to meet the demand with fiscal responsibility. The supervisor will foster a culture of inclusion, build a workforce with equitable access to career opportunities.

Work Schedule: FTE 1.0, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5:30pm, on call rotating weekends.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities of all leadersRequired Qualifications:

Plays a shared role in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, mentoring, competency building, recognition, performance reviews as well as progressive performance discipline up to and including termination of team members.

Scheduling, approval of time & attendance for Environmental Service and Central Transport to achieve appropriate staffing levels are met and within budgetary targets.

Foster an environment that supports a "team" ownership of process, allowing input from the team members that will improve department outcomes. Daily leader rounding in the departments, observing regulatory compliance requirements, work standards, policies, performance metrics that will result in meeting expected outcomes.

Daily response in a timely and courteous fashion in handling service inquiries, Ovations, and complaints.

Planning and lead team on huddles, department & organizational communications, mandatory education, flu vaccinations, department meetings and effective ongoing performance management.

Identify, support, and collect information, and assist in the development of processes, programs, or process improvement initiatives. Ensure operating procedures, training manuals, standard work and processes are up to date, communicated and followed by employees.

Assist in continual operation of all computerized systems, advancing utilization of technology.

Knowledge with utilization of Quality Improvement tools to achieve effective outcomes.

Assist management of staff with special projects, coverage on call and all other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous lead/supervisor experience

Associate or bachelor's degree in related field

Previous healthcare experience

Previous experience leading in a union environment

Experience and Skills: (indicate preferred or required)

Experience and / or other areas of leadership including negotiations, facilitation, problem solving, knowledge of supply chain, expense management to budget, written & verbal skills, analytical tactics, interpersonal skills, waste compliance, infection prevention disinfection, capital asset management, patient or customer experience, regulatory compliance, employee engagement with the ability to lead in diversity, equity and inclusion, union environment and effectively utilize quality improvement tools.
