Logistics Specialist (Temporary)

The Logistics department at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory is seeking a reliable and motivated temporary Logistics Specialist to support our operations during our peak season. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, stays organized under pressure, and can adapt quickly in a fast-moving environment. The duration of this position is April - October 15th, 2026.

• Assist with daily shipping, receiving, and inventory tasks
• Load, unload, and organize incoming and outgoing materials
• Prepare orders for delivery, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas
• Use computer systems to update inventory, track shipments, and complete documentation
• Drive company vehicle for local deliveries or pickups as needed
• Support the logistics team with additional tasks as assigned

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Flexible scheduling required, 20 to 30 hours a week
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle
• Strong computer skills, including basic data entry and familiarity with common software
• Ability to lift and move packages as required (typically up to 50 lbs.)
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours during peak season
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in logistics, warehouse operations, or delivery
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• High School diploma required, college preferred

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range for this role is $17.37-20.72. The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).
