What we do:

The Trade Desk is seeking a Senior Accountant, SEC Reporting & Equity to report to the Associate Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting. This person will be responsible for the accounting, reporting and disclosures related to our stock-based compensation (SBC), including the Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP) equity plan.

This role interacts with other departments inside and outside of the United States within The Trade Desk, including functional areas such as: Accounting, Tax, Legal, SOX and Risk Management, People Operations, Investor Relations, Corporate Development and Financial Reporting and Analysis. The ideal candidate will have a customer service orientation and be a great communicator and collaborator, as well as having the technical skills to manage the day-to-day tasks related to SBC, ESPP and SEC reporting.

What you'll do:



  • Perform stock-based compensation accounting and reporting activities for the close toreport process every month, including preparing and posting journal entries andvariance analysis related to SBC and ESPP.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations for equity related accounts.
  • Prepare SBC related disclosures included in Forms 10-K and 10-Q filings.
  • Prepare equity related reporting package for management.
  • Interface with external auditors on equity/SBC matters for quarterly reviews and annualaudit.
  • Prepare documentation and assist with SOX compliance activities related to SBC.
  • Prepare executive and director equity disclosures included in Proxy statement filings.
  • Assist with research of technical accounting issues and preparation of preliminaryconclusions, primarily related to equity.
  • Assist with IFRS reporting related to SBC.
  • Assist with SEC reporting tasks, including tie out of 10-K and 10-Q, earnings release andearnings script.
  • Assist the SEC and Technical Accounting Teams with other requests


Who you are:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university.
  • 3-5 years of work experience, audit experience with a major public accounting firm preferred.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of public company financial statement preparation.
  • Technical knowledge of accounting procedures, public company financial statement preparation, SEC Regulations, US GAAP (including stock-based compensation accounting per ASC 718), and Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with excellent written and oral abilities, interpersonal effectiveness, and a customer-service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple concurrent projects under pressure and within deadlines, including coordination across offices and departments. Willingness to work additional hours as needed.
  • High level of integrity. Demonstrate absolute discretion and confidentiality regardingsensitive information.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and effectively handle multiple, concurrent demandsand appropriately prioritize responsibilities.
  • Help drive process improvements to enable speed, efficiency and accuracy in the equityclose to report processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with E*Trade and Workiva preferred.
  • CPA preferred, and experience with public technology companies a plus.

In accordance with various US state laws, the range provided is the Trade Desk's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may differ based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, and location.All employees may be eligible to become The Trade Desk shareholders through eligibility for stock-based compensation grants, which are awarded to employees based on company and individual performance. The Trade Desk also offers other compensation depending on the role such as variable compensation-based incentives and commissions. Plus, expected benefits for this role include comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, and vision) with premiums paid in full for employees and dependents, retirement benefits such as a 401k plan and company match, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, well-being benefits, reimbursement for certain tuition expenses, parental leave, sick time of 1 hour per 30 hours worked, vacation time for full-time employees up to 120 hours thru the first year and 160 hours thereafter, and around 13 paid holidays per year. At the Trade Desk, Base Salary is one part of our competitive total compensation and benefits package and is determined using a salary range. The base salary range for this role is
$77,600 $142,200 USD
