Job Title: Security Specialist - Illicit Material Interdiction (NWS 00885) Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy. Successful candidates will be employees of NWS, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance the missions of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore, CA. Though employed by NWS, the employee will take day-to-day direction from technical personnel employed directly by the research laboratories. Pay, benefits, Human Resource, and Employment Management functions are provided by NWS. The Global Security Directorate has an opening in the Nuclear Threat Reduction Division for a Security Specialist with an expertise in law enforcement tactics and processes for hazardous material screening. The successful candidate should have experience with explosive ordnance disposal, and the interdiction of weapons of mass destruction (WMD) components to support work enabling government agencies to detect and intercept illicit material associated with nuclear, radiological, chemical, and biological threats. The successful candidate will support the Adversary and Interdiction Methods (AIM) program; a component of the Global Material Security (GMS) program in Global Security's Nuclear Threat Reduction Program (N). These positions will integrate into joint LLNL subject matter expert teams to provide firsthand experience with the interface between state and local law enforcement and Federal WMD adjudication and response systems.
