Position Description:
Responsible for processing and maintaining accounts payable, time collection, account reconciliations, and other accounting duties as required.

We offer a hybrid schedule (in-office & remote/work from home) or an onsite schedule and flexible hours. Candidates will need to reside near Charleston, SC to ensure work site flexibility.
Essential Functions:
- Process Accounts Payable (AP)
- Completes final review of expense reports
- Manages and validates timesheet information to include ensuring biweekly timesheet completion with necessary approvals; validating biweekly timesheets prior to release to payroll; managing weekly timesheet corrections, project code access and employee/manager changes; and importing new projects into TESS and providing employee timesheet support as needed
- Reconciles specific account and statement balances on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Prepares recurring, non-recurring and reversing general journal entries
- Supports compliance review monitoring as needed
- Provides backup as needed for invoice staging
Additional Responsibilities:
- Receipt and distribution of manual and electronic correspondence.
- Records management.
- Special projects and other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in an Accounting related field and two or more years of directly applicable accounting experience, or MS degree and two or more years of applicable accounting experience within an electronic accounting environment. Strong computers skills, specifically the Microsoft Office suite; Project accounting, Deltek Costpoint experience preferred.
- Must possess the integrity to handle confidential information.
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Motivated to work independently and on a team to accomplish goals.
- Attention to detail and accuracy within context of company policy and contractual obligations.
- Must successfully pass a background and credit check to access sensitive information and automated systems.
- Employee must be a U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization, or a green card lawful U.S. permanent resident, or a political asylum in the U.S. Individual must meet the definition of "a U.S. person" upon hire due to the risk assessment of this position
