The Administrative Nurse I (ANI) manages assigned Electrophysiology Labs assisting with clinical management and administrative coordination of EP procedures. The AN I in the EP lab is an RN with advanced skills who is an expert in EP Lab nursing care providing direction and coaching to staff nurses and other EP staff in the daily operations. Reporting to the AN II and working closely with the EP team, the AN I facilitates the smooth operation of the nursing unit and acts as a mentor, preceptor, and resource for the Clinical Nurse II, as well as other staff members. Provides advanced consultation to other units and hospital staff regarding EP patient care/flow. Acts as Board runner, assigning rooms and allocating resources on a case-by-case basis. Participates and engages in special projects. - Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction
- American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
- Graduate of and accredited school of nursing
- Three (3) years of recent Electrophysiology Lab RN experience
- One (1) year of recent scrubbing experience in surgical or interventional procedures
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Ability to utilize medical terminology appropriately
- Knowledge of current trends in nursing

Department Overview The Electrophysiology (EP) Laboratory is a specialized unit focused on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias through advanced electrophysiological procedures. The department includes two dedicated EP labs, each equipped with state-of-the-art mapping systems, fluoroscopy, and ablation technologies to support both diagnostic and therapeutic interventions. Our expert team provides care to a broad patient population, from neonates to geriatric patients, ensuring individualized and age-appropriate management of complex rhythm disorders. Procedures performed in the EP lab include diagnostic EP studies, catheter
ablations, pacemaker and implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) insertions, lead extractions, and device troubleshooting. Highly skilled Electrophysiologists, Cardiovascular Technologists (CVTs), nurses, and anesthesia providers work collaboratively to deliver safe, precise, and patient-centered care using evidence-based practices and the latest innovations in cardiac electrophysiology.
