We are searching for a talented Advanced Practice Practitioner to join the ENT team.

Hours: Full-time - 40 hours.


Shift: Day shift - no weekend, holiday or on call.

Location: Dartmouth & Wareham, MA + Hospitals

  • Under direction of individually assigned Physician, Office Manager or Designee, perform a wide variety of patient care and related duties both within and in support of Southcoast Physicians Group.
  • Performs a variety of designated duties and responsibilities in collaboration with individual physician including but not limited to: assessment of patients (performs comprehensive physical exam and obtain medical history in the hospital and office setting, pre and post-operative procedures, assisting with diagnostic procedures including but not limited to ICP monitoring).
  • Responsible for hospital rounds (Monday thru Friday, weekday schedule & rotation for "on-call" coverage) as directed by individually assigned Physician. This shall include: assessment of assigned patient progress, medical management and oversight of the patient's plan of care.
  • Act as a resource and/or consultant to phone triage nurses and take phone calls from various parents/family members as requested.
  • Performs bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on adult patients as indicated and directed by attending physician. This is dependent on the NP/PA privileges as delineated by each of the credentialing committees at each of the SHG hospital sites.
  • Prepares patients for discharge including: patient / family teaching, transition of care (i.e., homecare, SNF, Rehab). Prescribes appropriate medications and post care instructions (i.e., diet, activity etc.) to promote optimal recovery. Directs patient follow-up to referring physician and/or PCP as directed by attending physician.
  • Performs preoperative preparation of patients and reinforces information provided by the attending physician to the patient and/or family as necessary.
  • Chart all findings completely and accurately in accordance to all CPT billing regulations pertaining to patient visits.
  • Physician Assistant: Bachelors Degree in a related field is required. Graduate of an A.M.A.-approved Physician Assistant program is required.
  • Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Physician Assistant is required.
  • Nurse Practitioner: Masters of Science Degree in Nursing is required.
  • Certification from a National accrediting body to practice as a Nurse Practitioner is required.
  • Current Massachusetts R.N. registration is required.
  • Nurse Practitioner Certificate/Physician Assistant Certificate is required.
  • Over 3 months experience is required.
  • NP - Massachusetts Nursing License authorization to practice in an expanded role.
  • PA Physician Assistant License authorization to practice.
  • CME requirements as needed.
