The Land Development Business Unit is seeking a Civil Engineer in one of our Washington offices in Bellevue, Everett, Woodinville or Tacoma, WA.

The Professional Civil Engineer's role is to carry out individual tasks delegated to them by the Project Manager. The Professional Civil Engineer plans and conducts work requiring judgment regarding the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Successful candidates should possess expertise in land development design, grading, drainage, water quality, streets, sewers, storm drain and utilities.

What You'll Do Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply civil engineering principles to assigned projects while functioning as a team leader or working independently
  • Develop design plans and lead specification production for a broad range of projects, including site layouts, horizontal and vertical control, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and related civil engineering activities
  • Lead the preparation of water quality reports and drainage studies, including associated hydraulic and hydrologic calculations
  • Prepare engineering calculations, specifications, proposals, and permitting applications
  • Schedule projects by establishing and modifying critical paths, develop and review cost estimates, and coordinate with clients
  • Execute complex assignments using sound judgment in the evaluation, selection, and modification of standard engineering techniques and procedures
  • Develop innovative solutions to technical challenges encountered during project delivery
  • Interface with clients and public agencies to support project coordination and approvals
  • Supervise project staff as needed and provide mentorship to junior team members
What You Bring Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant design experience in land development projects, including commercial, residential, public works, institutional, or industrial developments
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD or Civil 3D and the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Professional Engineer License
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Professional Engineer License in the state of Washington
  • LEED AP Certification
