This position is for Parker Hannifin's Composite Sealing Systems Division, located in San Diego (Otay Mesa), California. The standard work hours are Monday through Friday from 2:30PM - 11PM; however, may be required work overtime based on business needs.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Quality Associate III conducts visual and dimensional inspections while interacting with customer portals to manage inspection documentation and retrieve specifications. The associate independently evaluates non-conforming materials, creates certification packages, performs customer contract reviews, and acts as the customer release agent (DQR). The associate actively participates in team goals and continuous improvement initiatives, ensures efficient production flow and adherence to quality and safety standards, and maintains a safe and inclusive work environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections.

  • Train and certify operators in accordance with designated programs.

  • Identify and evaluate non-conforming material, create NCMRs, and assist with their disposition.

  • Interact with customer interface portals to input documentation such as inspections results, FAIRSs, information requests, and retrieve customer documents such as drawings or specifications.

  • Identify, evaluate non-confirming material (NCMR), and determine the disposition of the material.

  • Perform customer contract reviews.

  • Create certifications packages.

  • Act as customer release agent (DQR) for customers.

  • Analyze quality-related problems and implement corrective actions.

  • Comply with Parker's Quality policy and processes to ensure compliance to ISO, AS, Nadcap, and MS certifications.

  • Adapt to changing production demands or shifts in priorities while maintaining a positive attitude.

  • Foster an inclusive and respectful workplace by treating all team members with dignity and respect.

  • Follow established safety and environmental policies, procedures, and methods applicable to the work area.

Work collaboratively with team members and actively participate in High-Performance Teams (HPT), Kaizens, and other Lean initiatives to drive continuous improvement initiatives and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Perform other duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • GD&T certification, preferred

Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • 3+ years of experience in quality control performing visual and mechanical inspections

  • 3+ years of experience working with CMM or Visual Measurement Systems programing
  • AS13001 certification

  • AS9102 certification

  • DQR certification, preferred

  • GD&T certification, preferred

Skills:

  • Ability to read, write and comprehend instructions, correspondences, and memos in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other team members of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area to promote efficiency and safety.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with other team members.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, such as algebra and geometry, for measurements and quantities.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tasks and work assignments in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to understand adhere to quality standards in production processes.
  • Ability to use inspection equipment, tools, and gauges.
  • Ability to read and understand bar graphs for department metrics.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds regularly.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to frequently bend, stoop, and reach for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to use hands and fingers for detailed work over extended periods of time.

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with a focus on accuracy and efficiency for extended periods of time.

  • Ability to wear required PPE throughout the entirety of the shift.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $23.25/hr to $35.5/hr
