Job Description

The Student Support Specialist II provides administrative and student services support within an academic department that houses the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Fitness & Programming Management (FPM) degree programs. This position replaces a retiring staff member and is essential to maintaining established operations related to admissions, enrollment, scheduling, student progression, and program coordination. The role serves as a central point of contact for students, faculty, and staff and supports the day to day functioning of both programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide front line administrative and student support for the DPT and FPM programs, serving as a primary point of contact for inquiries
  • Coordinate admissions, enrollment, and student record processes, including cohort management, block enrollment, permission numbers, and graduation clearance
  • Support accreditation, licensure, and compliance related documentation and reporting, particularly for the DPT program
  • Assist with course scheduling, classroom reservations, exam logistics, and academic calendar coordination
  • Maintain advising and communication workflows, schedule appointments, and respond to routine student requests
  • Prepare verification letters, enrollment confirmations, and other required student documentation
  • Support faculty operations including course evaluations, catalog updates, and reporting needs
  • Supervise and coordinate student workers as assigned
    Manage routine operational needs such as supply ordering, space scheduling, and coordination with campus offices
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental operations

8:00am - 5:00pm

Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in higher education, academic affairs, or student services
  • Experience supporting graduate or professional programs and/or undergraduate degree programs
  • Familiarity with student information systems (e.g., myZou), scheduling systems, or learning management platforms
  • Knowledge of accreditation, licensure, or compliance related processes
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Demonstrated customer service and effective communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Anticipated Hiring Range

Anticipated Hiring Range: $17.05 - $23.37 per hour
