This position is eligible for Eskaton's health benefits package the first of the month following 60 days of employment and Paid Time Off benefits program after 90 days of employment.

The starting salary for this position ranges from $24.90 per hour- $37.72 per hour. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and business considerations may influence base pay offered.

Position Summary:
The Business Services Manager organizes and performs Business Office functions.Performs bookkeeping duties essential tooperationof thecommunityand supports theExecutive Directorin analysis of operating budget.

Essential Job Functions:

Business Services:



  • Promotes the success of others.
  • Performs bookkeeping tasks essential to thecommunity's operation, including, but not limitedtoanalyzing payroll costs, following up on outstanding/aging self-pay accounts, collecting, and providing necessary information to the corporate accounting staff to record transactions.
  • Analyzes monthly operating statements in conjunction with theExecutive Directorand department heads.Analyzes budget variances and assures proper expense coding accrual.
  • Helps coordinate monthly billings for all resident related services and supplies.Is responsible foranswering questionsregardingresidentbillings.
  • Monitors revenue, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and all other necessary journals.
  • Maintains residents' trust and petty cash, makes disbursements from funds upon receipt ofauthorizedvoucher,maintainsaccuracy of petty cashfund, and replenishes funds as needed.
  • Collects, reviews, monitors and audits all stafftimecards.Makesappropriate payrollinput, checks for accuracy, and forwards to thecorporateoffice to centralized payroll department.
  • Requisitionssupplies and equipment for use in the Business Office.Alsoordersstationery supplies asrequisitioned.
  • Encourages the development and implementation of positive employee relations,assistsin developing employee relations, committees, and programs as assigned by theExecutive Director.
  • Administers corporatepersonnelpolicies and procedures, evaluates compliance with both legal and board directives, directscommunitysite audits to ensure compliance with corporate policy and state and federal regulations.
  • Verifies all on-line insurance carriers (i.e., spot check the common working file) toassureappropriate paymentsource(s).All insurancemustbe verified without exception.
  • Provides information to supporting services (i.e., lab, pharmacy, therapy, nursing, x-ray) after insurance verification has been obtained.
  • Communicates all status changes of a resident to supporting services.
  • Is responsible forkeeping face sheet current andup to datewith financialinformation. Meets with families and completes move-in documentsin a timely manner.


Human Resources



  • Completes reference and license checks for new hires.
  • Ensurespersonnel files are complete andaccurate.
  • Coordinates scheduling of post-employment physicals and Hepatitis B Immunizations for new employees.

        QUALIFICATIONS Education: Accounting Degree (BA or AA), with an emphasisinBusiness Administration and/or equivalent experience.







                  Training and Experience:



                  • Three to fiveyears' experiencesupervising staff.
                  • Must be able to conduct surveys, gather statistical information, prepare comparative analysis,operatePCcomputer, make mathematical calculations, communicate effectively, both verbally and in written form.All staff that provide direct care to residents will have current first aid training.


                  Knowledge and Abilities:

                  Has a basic understanding of human resources law (State and Federal) and accounting, and their theories and applications.Possessesa knowledgeof personal computer functions andappropriate software.

                  Light Work



                  Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg control requires exertion of forces greater than that of sedentary work and if the worker sits most of the time, the job is considered light work.




                  The final candidate must successfully pass Eskaton's post offer, pre-employment testing which includes a criminal background check, drug test, TB screen test and health screen. All new hires are required to sign an arbitration agreement as a condition of employment.
