IT Security Specialist

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Big Data Developer/Engineer for an onsite position with a Global Financial Institution located in Chicago, IL or Denver, CO. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

We invite you to join the Global Information Security (GIS) team as a Big Data Developer/Engineer. This role is part of a tight-knit, supportive community passionate about delivering the best experience for customers. This specific role is required to be fulfilled onsite 5 days a week in a facility.

Responsibilities:

• Perform data ingestion from message queues, file shares, REST APIs, and relational databases
• Work with data formats like JSON, CSV, and XML
• Utilize SPARK Structured Streaming for data processing
• Design and build end-to-end Near-Real Time and Batch Data Pipelines
• Conduct performance tuning for Spark, MapReduce, or SQL jobs
• Work within an Agile development process and various phases of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Use source code and version control systems like SVN, Git, and Bit Bucket
• Work with Jenkins for continuous integration and manage JAR dependencies

Requirements:

• Strong SQL skills with one or more of the following: MySQL, HIVE, Impala, SPARK SQL
• Experience working with Hadoop/Big Data and Distributed Systems
• Working experience with Spark, Sqoop, Kafka, MapReduce, and NoSQL Databases like HBase or SOLR
• Experience with CDP, HDP, Cloudera, or Hortonworks platforms
• Familiarity with Elastic Search and Kibana
• Hands-on programming experience in at least one of the following: Scala, Python, PHP, or Shell Scripting
• Experience and proficiency with the Linux operating system
• Self-starter who works with minimal supervision and the ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets
• Strong analytical mind to take on complicated problems
• Ability to adapt and continue to learn new technologies

Pay range: $63.94 - $71.94 per hour
