The Field Operations Services (FOS) Team in the Field Function is a strategic partner to the field that extends capabilities, grows capacity and enables change. The Service Development Senior Specialist role is responsible for design, development and improvement of service offerings to the field. Bring your strong business analysis and process skills to work in partnership with subject matter experts and the field to solve complex business challenges and meet strategic objectives.

What You'll Do

  • Identify, refine and improve shared business services for financial advisors as part of their practices with client building, sales, and servicing.

  • Partner with team consultants to design and develop shared business services for financial advisors.

  • Understand business needs and priorities in an agile team and delivery model across the field and various home office departments.

  • Grow and build knowledge with Northwestern Mutual systems to easily evolve with the company's technology and practices.

  • Work closely with subject matter experts and the field to identify impacts to roles, processes, technology, business rules, and economics to implement solutions that solve complex business challenges and meet strategic objectives.

What You'll Bring to the Role

  • Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Business or related field; or related work experience beyond the minimum required.

  • Four or more years of experience/knowledge of business operations/processes to include analysis, design, documentation, using industry best practices and standards.

  • Demonstrated flexibility to adjust to changing business needs by effectively managing and prioritizing concurrent assignments.

  • Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve critical issues through effective problem-solving skills.

  • Develop and leverage relationships; ability to effectively negotiate with internal and external partners.

  • Excellent communication skills focused on facilitation; ability to deliver informative, well-organized documentation and presentations.

  • Knowledge of Continuous Learning Improvement or Lean Concepts and tools preferred.

Skills You Have

  • Change Management: Acts as an advocate for change as well as identifying gaps/issues that should be addressed to deliver optimal client/field experiences. Leads change management, when driving technology or process improvements, applying relevant change acceleration, risk mitigation, and stakeholder management methodologies and best practices. Analyzes business trends and current state to develop a case for change that aligns with business strategy. Implements plans and strategies to manage organizational and behavioral changes by aligning leaders and engaging impacted stakeholders.

  • Consulting: Connects with stakeholders to understand and gain specific information to help resolve customer problems in a given domain. Communicates effectively intent to customers, solicits customer requirements, utilizes domain knowledge and collaborates with the right stakeholders.

  • Continuous Improvement: Utilizes available methods to identify opportunities, executes solutions and measures impact to improve existing practices and processes. Implements feedback and lessons learned. Leverages the ability to identify and experiment assumptions and hypothesis for products to be able to refine and improve them at any stage of the life cycle.

  • Learning Agility & Critical Thinking: Pursues learning and obtains knowledge continuously in relevant fields, methods, or technologies in current and future practices; continuously utilizes critical thinking to identify opportunities, execute solutions, and measure impact to constantly improve existing practices and processes based on feedback, lessons learned, and market trends.

  • Project Management: Delivers projects in alignment to business requirements, specific success criteria, and stakeholder expectations. Plans, manages, and completes projects keeping cost and time considerations in mind.

  • Root Cause Analysis & Decision Quality: Assists and applies problem solving methods to understand the fundamental reasons of faults and problems; makes timely, data-driven decisions by understanding the probability of success, identifying customer risks, gathering business requirements, and developing value statements.

  • Solution Development: Designs, develops, and executes effective and innovative solutions to address specific business challenges or opportunities.

Structure 110:

$77,360.00 USD - $116,040.00 USD

Structure 115:

$80,880.00 USD - $121,320.00 USD
