About the Job

The University of Minnesota Medical Student Anesthesia Research Fellowship (UMN-MSARF) program provides financial support and resources to medical students to spend a summer focusing on anesthesiology research, training in scientific methodology and techniques, and learning how to incorporate research into an academic medical career with the aim of expanding and developing scientific talent in academic anesthesiology, locally and nationally. This vision aligns directly with that of the FAER-Medical Student Anesthesia Research Fellowship (FAER-MSARF).

A summer Fellowship in the Department of Anesthesiology provides medical students from the University of Minnesota between their first and second year with an 8-week research experience.

During the research fellowship, students will participate in research and training activities, as well as clinical anesthesia activities.

Pay and Benefits

Pay: $2,000 Stipend

Student workers are eligible to participate in the Student Health Benefit Plan, if they maintain 6 or more eligible course credits within a given semester. The same applies for Undergraduate Students, Graduate Assistants, Residents, Fellows and Interns.
