Located in Monmouth Junction, New Jersey, Tris Pharma has an immediate opening for a Packaging Equipment & Maintenance Supervisor on 1st shift. Hours are Monday-Thursday 10-hour shift. DESCRIPTION: The Packaging Equipment and Maintenance Supervisor will supervise, support, and assist [AP1] Packaging Mechanics to ensure efficient packaging of goods by performing packaging equipment maintenance including, but not limited to: troubleshooting, repair, upgrade, preventive maintenance (PM), etc. on various types of packaging equipment including (i.e. fillers, cappers, labelers, cartoners, bundlers, shrink wrappers, etc.) in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requirements. The incumbent manages the day-to-day maintenance, safety, scheduling, compliance and training activities to meet manufacturing requirements including deadlines and scheduled activities. She/he is also responsible for adequate staffing of the department and for providing support and guidance to team members. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Technically supports/guides mechanics in troubleshooting of equipment and assigned tasks; Organizes daily schedules and assigns personnel to various workspaces to meet Schedule demand * Responsible for all aspects of Packaging equipment maintenance while complying with cGMP, SOPs and FDA requirements * Supervise routine and complex work-related events to the troubleshooting, repair and upgrade of Packaging equipment. * Responsible for preventive maintenance (PM), repair and continuous improvement of packaging equipment * * Executes capital and continuous improvements projects utilizing internal and external resources * Performs root cause analysis on equipment failures to support investigations; Reports and investigates any deviations from processes or procedures * Establishes and enforces operating and safety standards and procedures for maintenance services and repair * Possesses total comprehension and working knowledge of packaging equipment, systems, and processes in designated areas * Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on use of all control points, equipment, and resources; Maintains compliance with established policies and procedures * Serves as back-up in absence of mechanics, as needed * Supervises, coaches and mentors direct reports and contingent employees Requirements QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Minimum education and years of relevant work experience Associates degree or equivalent and minimum 6 years experience in a cGMP regulated environment in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology in Facilities, Engineering, Packaging and/or Manufacturing department(s) in positions of increasing technical and supervisory responsibility OR combination of education and related hands on experience working in a cGMP regulated environment in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology in Facilities, Engineering, Packaging and/or Manufacturing department(s) in positions of increasing technical and supervisory responsibility. Strong knowledge of PLC and equipment electrical troubleshooting. Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates required * Strong working knowledge of Food and Drug Administration (FDA), current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), SOPs and regulatory rules, regulations and guidelines * Strong hands on experience operating, maintaining, overseeing and repairing various makes and models of packaging equipment * Working knowledge of various Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) programming and Building Management System (BMS) application * Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety and environmental policies, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals, etc. * Basic PC skills * Ability to work independently and collaboratively, as required, in a fast paced, matrixed, team environment consisting of internal and external team members * Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines * Planning, organization and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects * Fluent in English (verbal and written) * Ability and willingness to work additional hours as required by business needs Special knowledge or skills needed and/or licenses or certificates preferred People management or supervisory experience Travel requirements 0% Physical requirements Manufacturing based position Ability to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Anticipated salary range: $90,000 to $120,000/yr. Base salary offered is contingent on assessment of candidate's education and experience level relative to requirements of the position and a review of related industry standards and internal equity.
