Aquent is partnering with a leading multi-brand specialty retailer in the home furnishings space, a company dedicated to creating exceptional retail experiences that resonate with customers. This organization is at the forefront of bringing innovative store concepts to life, from new openings and remodels to strategic relocations and fixture rollouts across multiple brands. As a crucial member of their Store Development team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless execution of these projects, directly impacting the brand's physical presence and customer engagement nationwide.

Are you passionate about the intricate process of transforming a vision into a tangible retail space? Do you thrive on bringing order to complex projects and ensuring every detail is meticulously managed? This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team where your organizational prowess and collaborative spirit will be essential in orchestrating the development of stunning retail environments. You won't just be supporting projects; you'll be the central coordinator, the project air traffic controller, making sure that every initiative lands successfully and on time, shaping the future of retail for a beloved brand.

What You'll Do

In this role, you will be the linchpin for project coordination within the Store Development team. While you won't be designing stores or managing construction directly, your expertise will empower everyone else to do their best work. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Tracking project timelines, milestones, updates, and approvals across a high volume of active store projects.
  • Maintaining and organizing critical project documentation, including floor plans, drawings, and design files, ensuring easy access and version control.
  • Supporting permit and approval processes by diligently tracking their status and coordinating necessary documents with various stakeholders.
  • Preparing compelling presentations and materials for leadership reviews, distilling complex project information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Monitoring construction progress closely and proactively flagging potential delays or risks before they escalate into significant problems.
  • Coordinating seamless communication across Design, Construction, and Real Estate teams, ensuring no detail falls through the cracks.
  • Providing essential administrative support, including managing invoices, scheduling meetings, and assisting with basic budget tracking.

Who You'll Work With

This is a highly cross-functional role where collaboration is key. You will regularly partner with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders, including:

  • Design Managers
  • Construction Managers
  • Corporate Real Estate professionals
  • Store Operations teams
  • External vendors, including architects and general contractors

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • 0 to 3 years of experience in project coordination, project support, administrative coordination, retail operations, or design/construction support.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously with a calm and organized approach.
  • Strong organizational skills, backed by a proven system for managing information and tasks, not just good intentions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different types of teams and audiences.
  • A proactive, self-starter approach; you anticipate needs and follow up without being prompted.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel for tracking and data management.
  • A genuine interest in retail environments, the customer experience, and the significant impact physical stores have on a brand.

Nice to Have Qualifications

  • Any exposure to store development, retail buildouts, facilities, or architecture, including relevant internships.
  • Familiarity with construction drawings or design development processes.
  • Experience tracking permits or approvals for projects.
  • A background in retail operations or visual merchandising.
  • Experience coordinating with landlords, various vendors, or outside consultants.
  • Familiarity with SharePoint or other document management systems.
  • Basic familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for compiling presentation materials.
