Under general supervision of the department leadership, the Program Specialist is responsible for coordinating staff activities, department program and day-to-day oversight of the operational and administrative functions of the program to enhance and improve departmental workflows and programs. This position creates timely reports for department and other key stakeholders and communication with both internal and external contacts, providing service to resolve complaints, maintain relationships, handle meetings or deal with similar sensitive relations. Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience. One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience or one year of relevant professional-level work experience may be substituted for one year of required education. Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years' relevant experience. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Thorough knowledge of department policies, procedures, and practices. Uses critical thinking skills to analyze budget reports and identify inconsistencies. Strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication necessary to interface with various levels of management. Ability to work independently and meet scheduled time frames; manage multiple projects simultaneously; and prepare oral and/or written presentations to senior management. Ability to compile and coordinate high quality reports, proposals and written work in support of projects. Must have experience with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word and project scheduling skills. Must be organized and detail oriented. Must be able to work in complex organizational systems and affect change. Must be able to enter data into electronic information systems. Salary Range: Minimum 26.51/hour - Maximum 43.76/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
