Progyny is seeking a Research Assistant Intern to support the development and publication of clinical and outcomes research related to women's health and family building. This role will focus on coordinating active research projects, supporting scientific writing, assisting with IRB development, and managing submission logistics for abstracts, posters, and manuscripts.

This is an ideal role for a pre-med or early-career candidate interested in clinical research, public health, or medicine.

You'll gain hands-on experience with clinical research, IRBs, and publication processes, exposure to real-world data and outcomes research, mentorship from clinical and research leadership, and experience contributing to conference submissions and publications

What you'll do...

Research Coordination & Project Management

  • Maintain a tracker of all active research projects, including timelines, authors, and submission deadlines

  • Coordinate across internal teams (clinical, analytics) and external collaborators

  • Ensure timely completion of drafts, reviews, and submissions

Literature Review & Background Research

  • Conduct structured literature reviews to support abstracts, manuscripts, and study development

  • Summarize findings into clear, concise briefs for internal use

  • Manage references using citation tools (e.g., EndNote, Zotero)

Scientific Writing Support

  • Draft background sections and assist with abstract and manuscript development

  • Support development of methods sections based on existing study protocols

  • Prepare tables, figures, and supporting materials using analyst outputs

IRB & Research Development Support

  • Work within existing IRB-approved protocols to support ongoing research

  • Assist in drafting IRB protocols and application materials using established templates

  • Compile and organize required materials for submission

  • Ensure documentation aligns with approved research scope

Submission & Administrative Support

  • Manage abstract and manuscript submissions (e.g., ASRM, ACOG, NAMS)

  • Format documents to meet conference and journal requirements

  • Track submission statuses and coordinate revisions

  • Support preparation of posters and presentations

About you...

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing), preferably in biology, public health, or related field

  • Strong writing, organization, and attention to detail

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously

  • Interest in clinical research, women's health, or healthcare innovation

Preferred:

  • Prior research experience (academic, internship, or lab-based)

  • Familiarity with reading scientific literature

  • Exposure to clinical research or IRB processes (coursework or experience)

  • Experience with reference management tools

In compliance with New York City's Wage Transparency Law, the hourly salary [wage] range for NYC-based applicants is: $25.00/hour - $50.00/hour. There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. Progyny offers a total compensation package comprised of base salary, cash bonus, and equity.
