Position Highlights

This is a Tenure-Eligible assistant professorship in the department of Health Promotion Sciences. Faculty with experience in AI/ML in metabolic diseases or nutrition interventions and/or AI-driven risk assessment for diet-related diseases, linking dietary patterns with health outcomes. The position supports research, student success and training in AI & Health as part of the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and the University of Arizona strategic initiatives.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop/maintain ongoing vigorous and productive research programs, including the completion of externally funded projects and submission of new proposals in strategic areas of research related to the role of AI & nutrition in prevention of metabolic diseases.
  • Develop, organize, and teach courses at the graduate or undergraduate levels in health promotion sciences, and contribute to mentoring students.
  • Contribute to the service and outreach missions of the Department, College and/or University through intramural service, professional service and outreach and collaboration with external partners and the community constituents.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
  • Skill in public speaking and presenting information to large groups.
  • Skill in manuscript development and submission of works to peer reviewed journals.
  • Skill in proposal development for submission to nationally competitive extramural funding programs.
Minimum Qualifications
  • An advanced degree (PhD, DrPH, MD, or another relevant doctoral degree) in health promotion sciences, or a related discipline.
  • Potential for or demonstrated experience of excellent research productivity.
  • Potential for or demonstrated experience of excellent teaching performance and mentorship.
