Drive a strong, visible safety culture through regular onsite engagement, meaningful dialogue, and leadership by presence across labs, offices, and support areas. Lead incident management and learning, including investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, trend analysis, and transparent communication of lessons learned. Ensure full regulatory compliance across environmental, health, and safety requirements, including permitting, reporting, inspections, and interactions with regulatory agencies. Provide clear SH&E performance insights to site and corporate leadership through metrics, dashboards, and regular updates that drive accountability and action. Lead site risk management, including risk assessments, laboratory safety standards, contractor oversight, capital project reviews, and change management processes appropriate for an R&D environment. Oversee SH&E training and capability building, ensuring robust onboarding, rolebased training, and sustained competence across employees, contractors, and visitors. Represent SH&E on crossfunctional and sustainability initiatives, supporting data collection, reporting, and continuous improvement aligned with corporate commitments.
What You'll Bring We are looking for a confident, experienced SH&E leader who can influence, execute, and raise standards:
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related discipline. 7+ years' progressive experience in SH&E leadership roles, ideally supporting R&D, laboratory, pilotscale, or multiuse facilities. Demonstrated success leading SH&E programs with minimal oversight, setting priorities, and driving results in complex environments. Strong working knowledge of SH&E regulations, permitting, incident management, and management systems applicable to laboratory and technology center settings. Proven ability to lead through influence rather than policy alone, building trust and accountability across diverse employee populations.
