Job Summary
The Dispatch Track/Trace Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, tracking, and monitoring movement of trucks and freight between port facilities, local port agencies, pack agents, ocean terminals, warehouses and railroad ramps by directing pickup and delivery activities of drivers.
Primary Objectives
- Ensure accurate data entry and performance of documentation activities.
- Timely generation, review, and delivery of related reports.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily scheduling of company drivers and sub-contractors.
- Closely track and monitor traffic movements to and from destination.
- Respond to tracing requests from customer traffic management offices.
- Routinely update computer system and maintains daily performance records, control logs, and dispatch-related file systems.
- Coordinate port and line-haul movement.
- Understand and adhere to all vendor interchange policy agreements to avoid storage and per diem charges.
- Enter line-haul data into computerized tracking system.
- Proactively notify customers of any non-conformity issues and work to effectively resolve them.
- Generate and distribute daily status reports.
- Obtain and enter shipment "Ready to Ship" information from agents into system.
- Obtain and enter delivery shipment status from agents.
- Other duties as assigned.

Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (HSED) required
- Associate degree or related college coursework preferred
Work Experience
- 2+ years' experience in a related position within the shipping, importing/exporting, or related industry required
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to develop effective professional relationships.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products at the following levels: Word, Excel, Outlook: Basic level of skill
- Strong quantitative and analytical thinking skills.
- Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient at office-related tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and mailing.
- Ability to set priorities, multi-task, and complete assignments within established timeframes.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and apply policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Ability to review and enter data rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to become proficient with company computerized tracking systems within a short amount of time.

The salary range listed is based on the geographic zone associated with this role: COMPTON, CA. If you are applying to work from a different location, the salary range may vary to align with the cost of labor and market conditions in that area. Starting pay will be determined by job-related factors including experience, education, and business needs and may be modified at any time.
Zone 2: Starting rate $20.00; up to $22.00 for highly qualified candidates
