Airport Baggage Handler - JFK - Air Canada

Responsibilities

• Assist baggage handling operation, unloading baggage carts into the conveyor belt.
• Handle all aspects of baggage service, assisting Ramp Service Agents to ensure that bags are timely transferred/carried to the appropriate belt upon arrival of the flights.
• Oversee that the conveyor belt is always operational and running with no issues.

Qualifications

• On-Call must be available any given day, from 6:30am - 3:30pm with 1 hour break.
• Full-time must have the flexibility to work 5 days/6 hours daily, mornings, weekends, holidays, and overtime.
• Must be able to lift/carry / push/pull and move items of 70 pounds and/or more on a regular basis. And must be able to walk, climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop on a frequent basis and for extended periods.
• Must be able to work outside in the inclement weather including during the winter cold and summer hot months.
• Must be at least 18 years of age; And, must have the authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
• Must complete ramp and SIDA training to obtainairport authority identification security.
