Are you a hands-on Maintenance Technician who takes pride in your work and enjoys solving problems independently? NRI Staffing is seeking a reliable and skilled technician to support a garden-style apartment community in Northwest Washington, DC. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity with a consistent weekday schedule and strong long-term potential.

This is a solo maintenance role, ideal for someone confident working independently and capable of managing a wide range of building and in-unit repair needs across a residential apartment setting.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday
• 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay

• $22/hour
• Temp-to-hire opportunity

What You'll Do

• Perform general maintenance and in-unit service requests throughout a garden-style apartment community
• Handle plumbing repairs including leaks, faucets, fixtures, and toilets
• Complete light electrical work (outlets, switches, lighting fixtures)
• Perform drywall repair, painting, and general unit upkeep
• Repair doors, locks, screens, and interior hardware
• Troubleshoot and assist with HVAC-related systems (boilers, chillers, convectors)
• Respond to water leaks and urgent maintenance issues
• Provide professional and respectful customer service to residents

What We're Looking For

• Experience in residential or building maintenance required
• Strong working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and general repairs
• Ability to work independently and manage daily priorities
• Familiarity with boilers, chillers, or HVAC systems preferred
• Knowledge of ProPress systems a plus
• Ability to safely work in environments where asbestos may be present
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
