The successful candidate will contribute as a key member of the Finance team by analyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing standard versus actual cost reports. They will ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory accounts, develop cost models, and perform detailed variance analyses to support pricing and profitability reporting.

This individual will be responsible for preparing journal entries, supporting financial statement preparation, and assisting with both annual and interim audits. In addition, they will play a key role in the design, implementation, deployment, support, and ongoing maintenance of the Company's ERP systems, while providing technical and operational support to financial management teams across the Econolite group of companies. The role requires frequent collaboration with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to ensure alignment, data accuracy, and effective financial decision-making.

DUTIES:

  • Report monthly and periodic inventory and margin analyses, including reserve requirements, purchase price variances, work order variances, and cost variances.
  • Perform month-end close responsibilities and support accurate and timely reporting.
  • Maintain the standard cost system, including periodic cost roll updates and cost setup for new products.
  • Provide cost and margin analyses to support capital funding requests and other business initiatives.
  • Ensure accounting processes comply with internal policies, controls, and procedural standards.
  • Support Operations Management in analyzing factory performance, including scrap, inventory loss, efficiency, expense control, and inventory accuracy.
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information, trends, and operational data.
  • Support the Company's annual budget process and standard cost review cycle.
  • Confirm cost accuracy by collecting, interpreting, and reporting costrelated data.
  • Guide cost analysis processes by establishing and enforcing policies, providing forecasts, and explaining financial impacts.
  • Conduct audits of bills of materials (BOMs) and bills of operations (BOOs) to ensure product and labor costs are accurate.
  • Conduct product line profitability analysis for management review.
  • Assist in special projects aimed at improving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing overall company profitability.
  • Recommend actions by analyzing and interpreting data, performing comparative analyses, and evaluating proposed changes in methods, materials, and processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of standard cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • In-depth knowledge of standard cost systems and manufacturing accounting.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and computer skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP preferred.

TRAVEL

Negligible, however, must be able to travel within North America including Canada and Mexico.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to stand, walk, squat, and bend at the waist for extended periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

PRE-EMPLOYMENT

COMPENSATION

The base pay range for this full-time exempt position is $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay rates for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
