We're looking for a Manager, Operations (MC) for a hybrid role supporting power and industrial projects across multiple Southern Nuclear locations.

The Manager, Operations, MC is responsible for the overall execution and performance of assigned sites and/or projects, with accountability for contract obligations, labor agreements, safety, financial performance, and talent development. This role serves as a senior operational leader and principal point of contact for customers, site leadership, and union labor representatives, while driving strategic business growth, continuous improvement, and operational excellence aligned with Day & Zimmermann values.


As the Manager, Operations (MC), here's the work you'll do:

  • Provide overall operational oversight of assigned project sites, ensuring all contract requirements and labor agreements are successfully executed.
  • Serve as the principal point of contact for senior customer leadership, site leadership, and labor representatives for higher-level contract, operational, and strategic matters.
  • Establish and maintain strong strategic relationships with customers and labor partners to support safe, efficient, and successful project delivery.
  • Ensure Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Site Managers are effectively executing work in accordance with scope, schedule, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Integrate customer processes with DZMC project controls and planning processes to ensure contractual compliance and operational consistency.
  • Identify and communicate opportunities for business development, value-added services, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage contract administration and financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, cash management, financial controls, and reporting.
  • Maintain full accountability for site safety performance; lead the DZMC safety culture and hold staff accountable for compliance and results.
  • Oversee all human resource activities for assigned site teams, including employee relations, performance management, productivity, coaching, and counseling.
  • Drive operational discipline, accountability, and a results-oriented culture across assigned projects and teams.

This role is for you if you have these skills:

  • Demonstrated leadership in maintenance and/or construction operations within the power or industrial industry
  • Strong project and operations management capability across both project execution and O&M environments
  • Proven ability to manage financial performance, budgets, and key operational metrics
  • Ability to build and sustain strategic senior-level customer relationships
  • Experience working effectively with union craft leadership in a closed shop environment, where applicable
  • Action-oriented leadership style with a strong focus on accountability and results
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive alignment

And if you have these qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in a relevant field, completion of a journeyman program, or equivalent combination of education and experience (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)
  • 15+ years of relevant operations experience within the power industry
  • PMP certification (preferred)

Compensation & Benefits

In compliance with this state's pay transparency laws, the salary range for this role is $220,017.60 - $265,241.60. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. (The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of union fringes).
