We have offices in The Woodlands, Texas and Bridgewater, New Jersey.

We are seeking a highly motivated External Affairs Intern to join our team in The Bridgewater, NJ office. This role is hybrid, two to three days in office.

Job Summary:

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Intern will work with the Executive Director, External Affairs to execute on projects related to several areas, including Advocacy, Public Policy, Government Affairs, and Community Engagement
  • This is primarily an external-facing role where the individual will join calls with Professional Societies and Advocacy Organizations, work on federal legislative priorities, use their creativity to weigh in on educational materials, and get the chance to think through how Lexicon can continue to be a part of the communities we serve.
  • Other partners across the organization will include leadership primarily from the Medical and Human Resources teams and will receive exposure to working with agencies.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Open to the following majors: Public Relations, Public Policy, Communications, Journalism, Digital/Social Media, Psychology/Sociology, and Scientific-focused majors such as pre-med, pharmacy, nursing, etc.
  • Targeting rising Juniors, entering their Senior year, and above
  • Skills to include creative problem-solving, interest in human and consumer behavior, personal interest in the sciences and medicine is a plus
