About the Role
As an Associate System Engineer your duties will include the development of system/subsystem design and requirements, software requirements, integration and verification test. Ensure the design has been fully defined, traceable, and validated during testing down to the components and software requirements. Ensure that all other assigned tasks are completed on-time with quality.

Responsibilities to Anticipate for this Role
(Specific tasks include but are not limited to and under the guidance of senior engineers)
  • Understanding and development of systems & subsystem level requirements
  • Design and develop the system and subsystem architecture, interfaces, and design including commonality considerations.
  • Decompose system and subsystem performance and verification requirements and develop design-verification plans and reports.
  • Define and ensure traceability of the system and subsystem requirements and software requirements.
  • Identify, define, and manage power, data, and other system interfaces.
  • Accurately capture and review electrical schematics at aSystem/Subsystem level
  • Perform functional analysis to develop flows and concepts of execution.
  • Ensure the system, subsystem, and component interfaces are maintained.
  • Support managing power and network bandwidth allocations for vehicle functions.
  • Ensure the system design aligns across physical, power, data, and software.
  • Integrate and verify the system and subsystem components in the Lab/Vehicle
  • Define and execute system and subsystem integration, test, and verification plans.
  • Understand processes and tools used in requirements management.
  • Achieve proficiency in one or multiple domains from a subsystem perspective (e.g., Power, Fire Control, Diagnostics, Information Assurance, C4, Software User Interface design, etc.)
  • Help design, develop and execute other duties as assigned


Qualifications Sought
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Control Systems, Software, or related engineering field. (Other technical degrees will be considered with related experience.)
  • Entry Level College graduate in Engineering, 0-3 years of applicable experience
  • Advanced degree a plus
    • Knowledge of systems engineering and requirement management tools like DOORS
    • Understanding of Model Based System Engineering and tools like CAMEO
  • Broad based knowledge of electrical systems, system/subsystem, H/W, and S/W requirements.
    • Experience with integration of electrical / electronic components and associated software/hardware
    • Experience with network-based vehicle architecture
    • Experience trouble shooting electrical systems required
    • Understanding of low-level languages
    • Experience with J1939 CAN and Ethernet protocols
    • Experience with lab & vehicle-based electronics and softwaretesting
  • Ability to multi-task, meet or exceed deadlines and build strong cross functional relations
  • Understanding of project management and issue tracking tools like Jira
  • Understanding of sensors, software languages and scripting are a plus
  • Microsoft Office experience including PowerPoint,Excel, etc.

Additional Information / Desired Experience
  • This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance)
  • This position may require the candidate to be able to climb on/off, work in, and work around military vehicles is desired. Must be able to pass ASR test (Anthropometric Size Requirement for confined space)
  • The candidate will need to have strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Able to work overtime when required
  • Able to bring continuous improvement processes and methodologies to the position.
  • Ability to travel (mostly domestic, some international) up to 15%
