Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant/APP, Women's Cardiology Outpatient | Full-Time | Relocation Available The Specialty Advanced Practice Provider exercises independent judgement in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of medical processes and procedures, in accordance with the licensure regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia, and as delineated in the written Scope of Practice and Protocol. Demonstrates respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines while using an integrated team-based approach to achieve desired patient outcomes. Utilizes evidenced based standards, guidelines and protocols for care delivery. Participates in quality and best practice initiatives by utilizing standards and guidelines for cost effective care delivery to continuously improve patient care and enhance outcomes. Performs high-quality clinical practices and effective patient management under physician supervision by following state regulations, including primary and secondary. Schedule: 1.0 FTE, 40 hrs/week day shift, in person, outpatient only Flexible hours: 5 8-hr shifts/wk or 4 10-hr shifts/wk No nights, weekends or holidays required. No call required. Patient population: APP will improve access to women's cardiovascular health care in the outpatient setting at Inova. They will be responsible for managing various diagnoses such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, cardiomyopathy, arrhythmia, cardiometabolic disease, etc. as well as optimize postpartum cardiac risk. APP will provide comprehensive care utilizing appropriate risk calculators and engage in preconception counseling. APP will coordinate care for women's cardiovascular health patients across OB, primary care and cardiology. Job Responsibilities
Requirements Licensure - Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner; If Nurse Practitioner: RN Compact License (depending on State of primary residence) AND a license (or eligibility for) as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant in the Commonwealth of Virginia AND a "Practice Agreement" signed by sponsoring/ supervising physician(s), AND a written "Scope of Practice/Protocol" signed by the supervising physician, AND "Drug Enforcement Administration License" (if prescribing controlled substances) Experience - APP Cardiology experience preferred Education - Bachelor's in Nursing and Master's in Advanced Clinical Practice or graduate of a post masters certificate program for nurse practitioners.
