General Repair Tech - Fire Rescue

$18.88 to $20.77 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Rockledge/Timothy J. Mills Fire Rescue Center/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and may include nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Performs experienced service maintenance work in the routine maintenance and repair of building or drainage structures, facility operating systems, grounds, and/or mechanical equipment related to Brevard County Fire Rescue. Employees may assist skilled crafts and trades workers and may direct the work of Maintenance Workers.

REQUIREMENTS: One (1) year of experience in building, mechanical, and/or equipment repair and maintenance. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license and must maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be able to successfully pass a Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) background check administered by the Brevard County Sheriff's Office. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster which may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
