About the Role
The Intermediate Quality Control Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, reliability, and compliance throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. This position requires a strong technical foundation, analytical mindset, and a thorough understanding of quality control principles and industry standards. The ideal candidate will leverage engineering expertise and quality methodologies to drive continuous improvement, support operational excellence, and promote best practices across production processes.
Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The Intermediate Quality Control Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and external partners to ensure products meet customer expectations, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards.

What You'll Do:
- Evaluate and implement inspection and testing protocols for raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with internal specifications, customer requirements, safety regulations, and applicable industry standards.
- Review and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) and Control Plans for new and existing products, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring alignment with controlled documentation.
- Analyze quality data and inspection results to identify trends, investigate issues, and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Audit production work instructions and compare them against as-built configurations to ensure product accuracy and process compliance.
- Develop and enhance quality processes, test methods, and validation activities to support consistent product performance and manufacturing excellence.
- Create, maintain, and improve inspection and testing documentation, procedures, and records.
- Evaluate and interpret inspection data, quality documentation, and supporting records to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Partner with external agencies and suppliers to support quality control activities and ensure adherence to Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality management systems and standards, including ISO 9001, DFARS, and other customer or regulatory requirements.
- Recommend and implement test and verification methodologies for printed circuit boards (PCBs), printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), and complex wire harness assemblies.
- Conduct detailed inspections and reviews of PCBs, PCBAs, and wire harness assemblies to verify conformance to engineering specifications and design requirements.
- Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives to improve product quality, reduce defects, and enhance overall manufacturing performance.
Qualifications
What You'll BringEducation and Training
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
- Formal Six-Sigma training, a minimum of Green Belt is desired.
- Experience with analytic tools such as Excel, Minitab, or similar tools
- Proficient with MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, MRP systems, Oracle.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with applied experience in a team environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience with analytic skills
- Experience with problem-solving skills.
- Experience with a data management system, such as TrackVia.
- Work with minimal supervision and the ability to lead others.
- Familiarity with measuring tools and instruments such as CMM, calipers, mics, height gauge, etc.
