Position Summary:
Provide support to the Maintenance/Engineering department performing a variety of cross-functional duties. Work closely with all salaried and hourly associates in the Maintenance/Engineering team taking direction and providing service.
This individual also has a responsibility to ensure and maintain a food safe environment through compliance to all requirements of programs/policies including but not limited to; Food Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, Quality, Workplace Safety, IPM, OSHA, Environmental, and as may be required by Plant, Company, Local, State and Federal mandates or programs.
Key Job Responsibilities:
*To maintain an organized and functional Parts Inventory System
*Provide support to the maintenance department by processing all paperwork, track parts usage and input data into computer systems/CMMS related to PM's, work orders, Downtime, Environmental items, etc.
*Order all parts for inventory, receive them and catalog their arrival
*Maintain record of vendor and contractor quotes
*Maintain record of vendor and contractor GMP forms
*Keep contractor COI's up to date and obtain COI's for new contractors
*Maintain parts tracking system
*Maintain parts inventory system
*Timely ordering of parts to reduce / eliminate the need for emergency parts ordering.
*Process all maintenance invoices dealing directly with vendors and OEM's. Track spending for departmental budget purposes
*All parts will be tagged and logged in computer
*Min / Max levels will be constantly audited for accuracy
*Maintain clean and organized part room
*Maintain backups files for all inventory
*Create parts order for Purchasing
*Maintain usage log and remove obsolete items from inventory with oversight from Chief Engineer
*Manage Critical Parts Inventory
*Maintain inventory consumption, file
*Track and report Inventory value, due last week of each period
*Manage inventory list of discontinued items with value removed
*Track Equipment History costs
*Other tasks as assigned
*Process Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders
*Maintain environmental database (BEST) with updated information (wastewater, oxidizer related info, refrigeration, vendor updates, etc.)
*Conduct audits / inspections as required
*Will challenge vendors cost and delivery times and compare with other vendors
*Will reduce overstock of duplicate parts
*Create a critical parts list
*Will free up maintenance supervisor for more equipment and mechanical focus.
Key Behavioral Competencies:
Education and Work History:
*High school diploma or G.E.D. required
*Excellent computer skills and knowledge of industrial parts and machinery is required
*Experience with parts inventory management/CMMS is highly preferred
*Basic knowledge of parts required for electrical and mechanical systems is required
