Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Brigham and Women's Hospital
United States, Massachusetts, Boston
60 Fenwood Road (Show on map)
Apr 18, 2026
We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Korecka Lab. The position will focus on two interconnected research areas: (1) elucidating the cellular mechanisms underlying epilepsy in dentatorubral-pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA) and evaluating gene therapy-based rescue strategies, and (2) defining the role of neuroinflammation in disease progression across rare genetic ataxias.

The Korecka Lab investigates early disruptions in neuronal activity that drive neurodegenerative phenotypes. We study how these changes arise from intrinsic genetic dysfunction as well as extrinsic influences, including microbiome alterations and neuroimmune signaling. Using patient-derived iPSC models combined with advanced live-cell functional assays, our goal is to uncover disease mechanisms and accelerate the development of next-generation antisense and gene-modifying therapies.

We are looking for candidates with prior experience in iPSC culture and differentiation, strong data analysis skills, and an interest in computational approaches. Ideal candidates are collaborative, highly motivated, and passionate about neuroscience, with a keen interest in neuronal function, electrophysiology, and cellular systems."

Candidates should have a Ph.D.
