WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Responsible for coordinating lab activities.

    Other key responsibilities:

    • Responsible for providing day-to-day administration of laboratory.

    • Perform regular Process audits on Laboratory staff.

    • Follows the laboratory procedures for specimen handling and processing.

    • Operates laboratory equipment.

    • Recognizes deviations from expected results and follows up appropriately.

    • Processes and ships PK samples according to study-specific instructions.

    • Performs phlebotomy as needed.

    • Participates in the collection of biological specimens. Evaluates and solves problems related to the collection and processing of specimens.

    • Facilitates the workflow through the laboratory to ensure completion of processing in a timely manner for all studies assigned to the site.

    • Maintains and cleans laboratory equipment.

    • Inventories reagents and supplies to ensure uninterrupted operations. Places orders for

    • supplies to maintain adequate supplies at all times.

    • Attends initiation meetings, as required.

    • Assists with orientation and training of lab staff.

    • Works with management to set standards, policies, and guidelines for the efficient operation of the laboratory.

    • Supports and participates in Corporate and Department initiatives regarding quality system implementation, maintenance, and continuous quality improvement activities.

    • May work with the Scientific Director and Associate Medical Director to act as initial contact for any new equipment.

    • May write and perform appropriate acceptance tests involving Clinical Operations staff as appropriate.

    • Initiates and monitors quality of laboratory procedures.

    • Conversant with current legislation and practices, ensuring all relevant guidelines and documentation are maintained accordingly, including COSHH and Radiological Protection., as applicable.

    • Ensure the quality of service provided by team members meets the requirements of both internal and external clients.

    • Instill in all team members the Company's commitment to quality and meeting the client's requirement without error, on time, every time.

    • Work with study teams to ensure protocol specifications are followed.

    • Works with management to ensure that a safe working environment is maintained and that safe working practices are employed.

    • Ensure that full and accurate data records are maintained.

    • Continuously seeks out new and better ideas, driving best practices.

    • All other duties as needed or assigned.

    YOU NEED TO BRING...

    • Bachelor of Science degree in scientific field

    • 2-3 years clinical Laboratory experience.

    • Additional experience may be substituted for education requirements.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day.

    • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment.

    • Occasional crouching, stooping, with frequent bending and twisting of upper body and neck.

    • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.

    • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.

    • Regular and consistent attendance.

    • Varied hours may be required.
