As a Hardware Engineer in the IP Routing group, you will be responsible for the design of new switching and routing platforms for service provider and data center markets. This position requires a motivated and disciplined engineer who can manage complex board-level designs from concept through release to production. This position requires deep knowledge of high-speed digital design, and the ability to effectively drive and collaborate with a team of hardware, diagnostics, software, mechanical, thermal, signal integrity, power systems, manufacturing and manufacturing test engineers to bring new products from concept through production.

As a senior/principal hardware engineer, you will:

  • Design cutting edge switching and routing platforms based on silicon from industry-leading suppliers.
  • Drive and manage your design through the development process from concept to production release
  • Perform detailed circuit design, schematic capture, and drive PCB layout for performance and manufacturability
  • Verify prototype hardware signal quality, function, and operation under extended thermal and environmental conditions.
  • Drive HW/SW integration and perform functional verification to ensure product meets feature and performance requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including design specifications and test plans to enable the larger cross-functional team.
  • Act as a technical mentor, providing guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Drive innovation by assessing emerging technologies and contributing to the strategic technology roadmap.

You have:

  • BSEE/MSEE and 10+ years of experience in board-level hardware design with a focus on high-speed, high-density digital design.
  • Expertise with schematic design and PCB layout
  • Strong debug and lab skills, including test development and verification
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and leadership skills
  • Experience with clock and synchronization design and verification

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Experience with stack-up design, signal integrity simulation, and power circuitry
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI/Safety and ITU/IEEE/Bellcore telecommunications standards
  • Programming/Scripting ability (C/Python)
