| Position Purpose |
The Presidential Fellow for the Office of the President works closely with all members of the President and Executive Vice President's teams to serve as a strategic liaison between the administration and student body. From policy research and benchmarking to supporting strategic planning and high-profile events, the Fellow engages in substantive, intellectually challenging work with real impact. This is a unique opportunity for a recent grad to gain firsthand experience in higher education administration and institutional decision-making at the highest level. |

- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and an ability to plan and prioritize work
- Excellent writing/research skills, including preparation of PowerPoint presentations
- Demonstrated analytical skills, including ability to work with databases
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Commitment to diversity and to serving the needs of a diverse community
- Demonstrated proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database management and visual representation of data (charts, graphs, etc.)
- Willingness to work nights and weekends
- Discretion in handling confidential information, and willingness to adhere to confidentiality agreement

Special Projects
- Works closely with the Vice President for Leadership and Governance Initiatives and the Chief of Staff to the Executive Vice President on strategic initiatives, including policy research and development.
- Assists the Executive Vice President with incident response.
- Contributes to one of the institution's most distinguished traditions by collaborating with senior leaders on the year-long honorary degree nomination and award process - conducting nominee research, maintaining the database, and preparing reports for the President and Board of Trustees.
- Coordinates and staffs institutional events, including matriculation, commencement, special anniversaries, and one-time events.

| Description |
Administrative
- Provides high-level substantive support to the Vice President for Leadership and Governance Initiatives, the Chief of Staff to the EVP, and the Chief of Staff to the President - including conducting research, developing and editing presentations, preparing briefing materials, and producing polished written content across a range of institutional priorities.
- Represents the Office of the President and the Office of the Executive Vice President in a variety of forums and meetings, providing meeting notes or minutes as needed.
- Supports the Chief of Staff to the EVP in guiding and overseeing Presidential Intern projects.
- Handles confidential, sensitive information, exercises excellent professional judgment and discretion, and interacts appropriately with Dartmouth constituencies ranging from administrative support staff to senior officers.
- Organizes recruitment of new fellows by planning student information sessions, preparing ads and posters, as well as writing emails to raise awareness of the program.
