Team Lead Environmental Svcs

SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, trains and guides the activities of a group of Environmental service aides, as well as performing a variety of aide functions for the general purpose of providing the Hospital with a clean environment for patients, hospital employees and visitors.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

See that subordinates (aides) perform duties in a safe and timely manner. Assists with the training and orientation of new employees. Provides functional guidelines on a day-to-day basis.

Assures that an adequate level of supplies are available in assigned areas, such as detergents, mops, hand soaps, etc., and alerts the supervisor to requisition additional supplies when needed.

Perform Quality Control Inspections in designated areas. Also, checks quality of linen when being processed or delivered.

Maintains reports to be used in production of records for assigned areas, such as soiled linen reports, washroom reports, attendance reports, daily control sheets, weekly hour usage reports, daily payroll, completes subordinate performance evaluations, vacation and holiday schedules, etc.

Regularly performs functions of subordinates, such as sorting soiled linen, running hoist of hall bags of soiled linen, operating washers and dryers, floor refinishing, carpet shampooing and cleaning of all hospital areas.

Fills in for all supervisors on days off, vacation, sickness and is responsible for overseeing the complete operation of the designated area in which he or she is filling in for.

Counsels, assists with work related problems, can recommend disciplinary action to supervisor. Can verbally discipline.

Also, may suspend employees for the remainder of the shift in the absence of a supervisor.

Responsible for laundry supervision and housekeeping supervision on weekends and oversees all laundry and housekeeping operations.

Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of two years of progressively more responsible housekeeping experience with some on the job training.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervises up to 2 - 15 FTEs.
