Mechanic

Essential Responsibilities:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, and replace worn or defective components on heavy equipment including engines, transmissions, hydraulic, and electrical systems

• Disassemble, reassemble, test, and validate equipment and major components to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturer specifications

• Perform pretrip and walkaround safety inspections, complete daily fieldlevel hazard assessments, and maintain a safe, compliant worksite

• Complete accurate maintenance reports and required documentation to support operational and regulatory requirements

• Collaborate with Fleet and Operations teams to develop and execute consumables purchasing plans and support equipment readiness

• Act as a safety leader by promoting a healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with company, client, and legislated safety policies, and communicating effectively with management and team members

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a mechanic role including at least 2 years working on heavy construction equipment in highpressure work environments

• CDL A or B is strongly preferred

• Strong knowledge of civil construction, current construction practices, and the ability to interpret construction documents

• Proven experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing heavy equipment including Vermeer, CAT, and John Deere or similar equipment

• Proficiency in the safe and effective use of advanced hand tools, power tools, and precision alignment tools

• Electrical experience considered an asset with the ability to adapt to evolving equipment and technologies

Work Conditions:

• This is a site-based position that will require travel (25 - 50%) between various Ledcor offices and project work sites - company vehicle and per diem will be provided
