Description TEKsystems is seeking a L4 Data Center Technician with 5+ years of dedicated Data Center Experience. This is a highly specialized team that will be handling troubleshooting of large GPU deployments inside an enterprise DC environment for a global leader in the industry. Logistics: Must live within daily commuting distance from the Data Center locations in Atlanta (Lithia Springs & Fayetteville) and must be willing to commute to these locations 5 days a week when not on the road traveling. Travel requirements: Must be open to traveling up to 80% of the time so 4 out of 5 weeks. When they aren't traveling, they will be onsite in ATL hence the above. They could go week stretches of 3-5 weeks and NOT travel so commuting to ATL locations daily. Travel details: TEKsystems make all flight, rental car, and hotel reservations while traveling. Schedule: This team will be working M-F 10-hour days so will be pulling 50/hr weeks most every week whether they are traveling or not. Key Responsibilities: Remove network cables as part of a datacenter decommission Run/Label/Stage Power & Networking Cables DBD removal only (does not perform any scanning) Follows procedures for preparing, installing, performing diagnostics, troubleshooting, replacing, and/or decommissioning equipment with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads Prepares, stages, sets up, and performs basic startups and shutdowns for hardware following written instructions, checklists, guides, standard procedures, and with guidance from Datacenter Technician Leads Physical audits of datacenter assets Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent Required: Basic knowledge of computer hardware, servers, and components. Required: Basic understanding of how to use Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word) Required: Need to be open to 75% travel The main function of a Data Center Technician is to monitor software to process business, scientific, engineering, and other data according to operating instructions. Job Responsibilities: * Monitor the system for equipment failure or errors in performance * Respond to program error messages by finding and correcting problems or terminating the program * Help programmers and systems analysts test and debug new programs * Operate spreadsheet programs and other types of software to load and manipulate data and to produce reports Qualifications: * Associate's degree in computer programming or equivalent training preferred * 5+ years of DC experience required * Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills * Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time Skills Data center, Cable, Cabling, Hardware, Rack and stack, Hardware troubleshooting, Troubleshooting, Racking, Cat6, Cat5, Infrastructure, Data center maintenance Top Skills Details Data center,Cable,Cabling,Hardware Additional Skills & Qualifications Candidates must be open to all ATL sites for their home base, Furthest north Lithia Springs, furthest south Fayetteville. With traveling they must be within reasonable driving distance to the ATL airport as well. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lithia Springs, GA.
