- Prepare and serve high-quality meals in accordance with menu standards, diet orders, and portion guidelines
- Support preparation of specialized and therapeutic diets including texture-modified, low sodium, diabetic, and allergy-sensitive meals
- Maintain strong food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices at all times
- Read and follow production sheets, menus, and dietary instructions to ensure meal accuracy and consistency
- Plan, prep, and execute multiple meals daily while maintaining quality, presentation, and timeliness
- Support menu flexibility by adjusting recipes and meals based on ingredient availability and resident preferences
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation environment
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team, including collaborating with nursing and support staff
- Support positive dining experiences for residents through quality food and customer-focused service
- Adapt to flexible scheduling needs based on resident and community needs
Qualifications: Experience Required:
- 2-3 years of professional culinary experience
Preferred:
- Experience in senior living, healthcare dining, hospitality, or open-kitchen environments
- Experience working in fast-paced or high-pressure kitchen environments while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Experience supporting menu development or dietary accommodations for resident or customer needs
- Experience working independently or managing food production in smaller team environments
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to read and follow menus, dietary cards, and production sheets accurately
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team while maintaining a positive, professional attitude
- Knowledge of menu development and dietary accommodations, including allergies, restrictions, and resident preferences
- Ability to manage kitchen operations independently or efficiently lead a small team
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations, sanitation practices, and safe food handling procedures
- Demonstrated ability to consistently prepare and present high-quality meals
- Ability to plan, prep, and execute multiple meals daily while maintaining quality and timeliness
- Flexibility to adjust menus based on ingredient availability and resident needs
- Maintains a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace at all times
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Effective delegation skills while fostering a collaborative team environment, including working alongside nursing and support staff
- Willingness to adjust schedule as needed to meet operational or resident needs
