Overview

The Whole Loans Trading Desk Analyst / Associate supports the end-to-end trading, risk management, and transaction execution of residential whole loan products. This role sits at the intersection of trading, structuring, risk, operations, and compliance, with responsibility spanning loan acquisition, portfolio management, sale/securitization, and ongoing lifecycle oversight. The position is designed for a highly analytical professional who can operate in a regulated fixed income trading environment while coordinating across multiple internal and external stakeholders.

What You'll Do

  • Support the trading desk in evaluating whole loan bids, acquisitions, dispositions, and securitization strategies, including data review, tape analysis, pricing support, trade confirmation, booking, and lifecycle management from execution through settlement and funding
  • Monitor pipeline activity and maintain accurate tracking of loan populations, trade economics, and execution milestones
  • Support daily and monthly P&L review, position monitoring, and balance sheet usage in coordination with Product Control and Market Risk while assisting in marking whole loan positions and performing cash flow, valuation, and stress analysis as required by the desk
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, and external vendors to ensure accurate settlement, funding, custodial reporting, and servicing transfers
  • Support post-close activities including EPD/EPO monitoring, R&W oversight, and loan sale or securitization unwind processes
  • Build and maintain analytical tools (Excel, VBA, Python, SQL where applicable) to support pricing, risk reporting, and operational efficiency

Skills You'll Need

  • Strong proficiency in Excel (large data sets, pivot tables, lookups); experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or similar tools is a plus
  • Working knowledge of CAS/Intex/Structuring
  • Ability to Identify opportunities to automate workflows and improve data integrity across trading and operational systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline encouraged
    • If Associate level: Proven experience with demonstrated exposure to whole loan trading, securitization, or mortgage portfolio management

Skills That Will Help You Excel

  • An understanding of residential mortgage products, whole loan structures, servicing, and securitization mechanics preferred
  • Working knowledge of fixed income markets and hedging concepts (rates and credit)
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams in a fast-paced trading environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders
  • Strong ownership mindset and comfort operating across front office, control, and infrastructure teams

Expectations

It is the Bank's expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the New York office in accordance with the Bank's hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in New York City is $110,000 to $140,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
