HDR is seeking a motivated Senior Project Manager to join our Healthcare Architecture Practice in Atlanta. In this role, you will contribute to projects that are vital to communities, spanning a variety of healthcare types including hospitals, clinics, MOBs, support facilities, and medical / research laboratories. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors across the United States to create facilities that address climate and resource challenges, deliver sustainable solutions, and enhance quality of life in the communities we serve. On a day-to-day basis, we'll count on you to:
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development & initiation to close-out).
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of large multidiscipline projects or medium-sized projects with high degree of technical complexity, involving a large project staff.
  • Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently.
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings.
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule.
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate / adjust work efforts with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule.
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures.
  • Supervise large project staffs and act as mentor for less-experienced Project Managers.
  • Perform other duties as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
    • PMP certification

    • 5 years' experience of working on healthcare, educational, civic, science, research facilities.

    • LEED Accreditation with experience and/or interest in sustainable and regenerative design practices, including low-carbon and healthy materials, LEED, SDGs, and the Living Building Challenge (LBC)

    • Familiarity with wellness and design excellence frameworks, such as Fitwel, WELL, and the AIA Framework for Design Excellence

    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a team environment

    • Local candidates are preferred

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture
  • 10 years related experience
  • A minimum 5 years project management experience
  • Registered Architect
  • Must be able to lead a team on projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project)
  • Knowledge and experience within the local and regional market
  • Good planning and mentoring skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
