A Day in the Life of the Capex Financial Analyst:

The CapEx Analyst is responsible for analyzing and monitoring capital expenditures (CapEx) to ensure effective financial planning, cost control, and strategic investment in infrastructure, technology, and operational assets. This role works closely with finance, operations, and engineering teams to track capital spending, optimize investment strategies, and support decision-making related to long-term assets.

  • Capital Expenditure Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze and track CapEx budgets, actuals, and forecasts to ensure alignment with corporate financial goals.
  • Develop and maintain financial reports detailing CapEx spending, trends, and variances.
  • Provide insights into capital investment efficiency and return on investment (ROI).
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Support the development of annual and multi-year CapEx budgets.
  • Monitor and report on capital project expenditures versus approved budgets.
  • Assist in financial modeling and scenario analysis for capital investments.
  • Investment Optimization & Process Improvement
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to optimize capital spending.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of capital projects and propose adjustments as needed.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to streamline CapEx approval and tracking processes.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance
  • Partner with finance, engineering, procurement, and operations teams to ensure CapEx alignment with business needs.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements related to capital investments.
  • Assist in audits and reviews related to capital expenditure reporting.
  • Other duties as assigned

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 2-4 years of experience in financial analysis, capital budgeting, or investment planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience in telecommunications, infrastructure, or a capital-intensive industry is a plus
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday) and capital expenditure tracking tools.
  • Understanding of fixed asset accounting and depreciation.
  • Ability to present financial insights effectively to stakeholders.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Base Compensation: The base compensation range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000 plus opportunities for benefits. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, relevant skills, experience, and capabilities.
