Talent Operations & AI Platform, Intern

Fearless is excited to launch our internship program in partnership with the Maryland Lighthouse AI Initiative. This program provides college students, recent graduates, and career changers with real-world experience in the government technology industry. Interns will gain hands-on technical skills alongside a broad set of professional skills - including interviewing, resume building, and networking - to support job readiness and long-term career growth. This internship will begin May 25 and end on August 14, 2026.

As a Talent Operations & AI Platform Intern, you will help run the day-to-day operations of Fearless's Phenom AI talent platform, the system that powers how we attract and engage candidates and team members. You'll keep platform documentation current and useful, partner with recruiters to leverage AI-powered candidate identification, and analyze platform data to recommend improvements to the recruiting funnel. This role sits at the intersection of operations, talent acquisition, and applied AI, and is ideal for someone who enjoys both organized process work and digging into data to make systems better.

Your Responsibilities in this Role:

Platform Operations

  • Coordinate daily operations of the Phenom AI talent platform, including monitoring system health, troubleshooting user issues, and escalating technical concerns to the appropriate owners
  • Manage user access, permissions, and configuration changes in coordination with the Talent and IT teams
  • Support routine platform tasks such as job posting setup, campaign management, and pipeline hygiene
  • Serve as a go-to resource for recruiters and hiring managers with day-to-day platform questions

Documentation & Knowledge Management

  • Create and maintain user guides, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and workflow diagrams that make the platform easier to use across the talent team
  • Keep documentation current as features, processes, and team practices evolve
  • Build training materials and quick-reference resources for new and existing platform users
  • Use AI tools to accelerate drafting, editing, and visualizing process documentation while ensuring accuracy

AI-Powered Candidate Sourcing & Recruiting Support

  • Leverage Phenom's AI candidate sourcing and engagement tools to support active recruiting efforts
  • Partner with recruiters to refine search criteria, scoring models, and outreach workflows for priority roles
  • Help triage and surface high-fit candidates from the platform's talent pool
  • Apply human judgment to validate AI-generated matches and flag issues such as bias, drift, or low-quality results

Analytics & Funnel Improvement

  • Pull and analyze platform data to monitor recruiting funnel performance - including sourcing volume, conversion rates, time-to-hire, and candidate engagement
  • Build reports and dashboards that make funnel health visible to the talent team and leadership
  • Identify bottlenecks, drop-off points, and improvement opportunities, and recommend changes to workflows, content, or platform configuration
  • Track the impact of changes over time and share findings in regular operating reviews

Collaboration & Professional Development

  • Partner with recruiters, hiring managers, and the broader People team to align platform operations with hiring goals
  • Present findings and recommendations in team meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
  • Participate in program activities focused on interviewing, resume building, networking, and career readiness in the gov tech industry

  • Strong written communication skills, especially for process documentation and how-to content
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity, source verification, and clear version control
