Job Summary and Responsibilities

Acentra Health is looking for a Chief of Staff, VP to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

The Chief of Staff, VP serves as a strategic advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for strengthening the effectiveness, alignment, and execution rigor of Acentra Health's Executive Leadership Team (ELT). This role ensures the ELT operates as a cohesive, enterprise-focused governing body, translating strategic priorities into disciplined execution and measurable outcomes.

This leader drives executive governance, performance management, and operating cadence, reinforcing accountability, decision clarity, and cross-functional alignment. The Chief of Staff, VP partners closely with senior leaders to elevate enterprise performance, support strategic initiatives, and ensure leadership routines enable effective decision-making and sustained organizational impact.

***This is a hybrid role, with a preference for candidates located in the DC, VA, or MD area who can commute to the corporate office in McLean, VA., OR candidate's that are remote, will be required to travel to the corporate office in McLean, Virginia at least once per month.***

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and continuously evolve the Executive Leadership Team governance model and operating cadence.
  • Integrate financial, operational, people, and strategic performance metrics into executive forums to enable informed decision-making.
  • Strengthen decision clarity, ownership, and follow-through across executive leadership discussions and outcomes.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the CEO on executive team effectiveness, alignment, and enterprise risk.
  • Provide perspective and guidance on leadership dynamics, organizational priorities, and execution challenges.
  • Support preparation for Board meetings and key executive engagements, ensuring materials are clear, concise, and decision-oriented.
  • Translate enterprise strategy into structured executive actions, priorities, and leadership expectations.
  • Elevate the rigor, focus, and enterprise mindset of leadership discussions and decision-making processes.
  • Ensure executive materials are high-quality, forward-looking, and aligned to enterprise priorities.
  • Track enterprise commitments and initiatives, reinforcing accountability and execution discipline across leadership.
  • Identify and surface cross-functional dependencies, risks, and execution gaps to enable proactive resolution.
  • Partner across business units and functions to strengthen alignment, reduce friction, and improve coordination.
  • Support enterprise transformation efforts and execution of high-priority strategic initiatives.
  • Lead planning and execution of executive offsites, leadership forums, and enterprise planning sessions.
  • Provide leadership and direction across executive governance and performance initiatives.
  • Influence and align senior leaders across the organization without direct authority.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and enterprise-wide thinking within the Executive Leadership Team.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration, management, or a related field OR will consider years' experience in lieu of degree?
  • A minimum of 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in strategy, operations, consulting, healthcare, or complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated experience advising C-suite executives in high-performance organizations.
  • Proven ability to influence, challenge, and align senior leaders constructively.
  • Proven experience driving enterprise-wide transformation and large-scale change initiatives.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret and apply executive-level performance metrics.
  • Strong executive presence with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential matters.
  • Candidate that is remote, will be required to travel to the corporate office in McLean, Virginia at least once per month.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience preparing Board-level materials and supporting executive-level governance processes.
  • Background in healthcare, government contracting, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience working in matrixed, fast-paced organizations with complex stakeholder environments.

Experience in Lieu of Degree

For non-clinical roles, or when not required by the contract specifically, the Company acknowledges that practical, hands-on experience can provide skills and competencies equivalent to formal education. As such, in cases where a Bachelor's degree may be required, the Company will accept a minimum of six (6) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of a degree. In instances where the candidate has an Associate's degree, the Company will accept a minimum of three (3) years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.

USD $210,480.00 - USD $250,000.00 /Yr.
