Senior Full Stack Java Developer

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer for a contract position with a Global Financial Institution located in Jersey City, NJ. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This position supports a strategic initiative to modernize the client's Market-Linked Investments trading platform across Equity, Currency, Commodity, and Rates-Linked Notes. Sitting within Wealth Management Trading Technology, the role focuses on building scalable, resilient platforms using innovative technologies to support growing business demands. The ideal candidate is an experienced, driven developer who thrives in complex, high-performance trading environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deliver complex end-to-end solutions aligned with business objectives
• Participate in and influence architecture and future design decisions, including adoption of modern development patterns
• Ensure software solutions meet functional, non-functional, security, and compliance requirements
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, participating in code reviews and design reviews to deliver high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code
• Design and develop RESTful services, backend components, and UI features
• Create unit and integration tests to ensure the reliability and robustness of application interfaces
• Translate high-level business and architectural requirements into detailed, actionable technical tasks
• Produce and maintain high-level and component-level design documentation
• Work effectively within Agile/Scrum teams to ensure timely and high-quality software delivery

Requirements:

• Over 10 years of hands-on experience as a Software Developer specializing in J2EE technologies
• Proven full-stack development experience using Java, React/Angular, Node.js, and relational databases
• Experience with frameworks including Spring (Core, MVC, Boot), JDBC, JMS, and SOAP/RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of Message-Oriented Middleware (Kafka, JMS, MQ) and event-driven architectures
• Hands-on experience implementing microservices architectures, with exposure to cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization/automation (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong expertise in application logging, caching strategies, transaction management, multi-threading and concurrency, performance tuning, and monitoring
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision

Desired skills:

• Exposure to Wealth Management Domain with knowledge on Fixed Income trading flows

Pay range: $58.26 - $66.26 per hour
