Description

The Senior Project Manager - Epic (Technical Project Manager, Patient Room Technology) is responsible for leading complex, crossfunctional technology initiatives that directly support patient room technology and the inpatient digital experience. This role focuses on the planning, coordination, and delivery of integrated clinical and technical solutions, including Epicadjacent workflows, bedside technology, thirdparty systems, and infrastructure that enable patient care delivery at the point of care.

This role partners closely with Digital Health, clinical stakeholders, Epic application teams, infrastructure, vendors, and operational leaders to ensure solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational strategy. The Senior Project Manager provides endtoend project leadership across all phases of delivery-from initiation and design through build, testing, golive, and stabilization-while managing dependencies across clinical, technical, and vendor teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Delivery

Lead medium to largescale Patient Room Technology initiatives, including bedside devices, integrated clinical systems, Epicadjacent workflows, and thirdparty vendor solutions.
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, RAID logs, and dependency tracking.
Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, testing, golive, and postimplementation stabilization.
Ensure projects adhere to PMO standards, Epic best practices, and organizational governance requirements.
Stakeholder & Clinical Partnership

Serve as the primary point of coordination between clinical leadership, Digital Health, Epic application teams, IS technical teams, and vendors.
Translate clinical and operational needs into clear technical and project requirements.
Facilitate effective communication across technical and nontechnical stakeholders, including executivelevel reporting.
Support change management, readiness planning, and adoption efforts to ensure successful deployment and sustained use of patient room technology solutions.
Technical & Vendor Coordination

Coordinate technical build activities across Epic, infrastructure, networking, device integration, and thirdparty systems.
Partner with vendors to manage implementation timelines, deliverables, testing, and issue resolution.
Identify technical dependencies and risks early and implement mitigation strategies to minimize operational impact.
Ensure solutions integrate cleanly with Epic workflows and meet security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
Risk, Financial & Governance Management

Proactively identify and manage project risks, issues, scope changes, and resource constraints.
Track and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with approved funding and financial expectations.
Prepare and present regular status updates, risks, and decision points to governance bodies and senior leadership.
Document lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of patient room technology delivery practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Healthcare Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (required)
Master's degree (preferred)
Experience

Seven (7) to ten (10)+ years of project management experience, preferably in healthcare IT or a similarly complex environment
Demonstrated experience leading technical implementations that integrate clinical workflows, Epicadjacent systems, or thirdparty healthcare technologies
Experience managing crossfunctional teams, vendors, and enterprisescale technology initiatives.
Skills & Knowledge

Strong understanding of healthcare IT environments, including EHR/Epic ecosystems, clinical workflows, and technical infrastructure
Expertise in multiple project management methodologies (e.g., Waterfall, Agile, hybrid)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for clinical, operational, and executive audiences
Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities, and complex dependencies
Proficiency with project management tools and documentation standards.
Preferred Qualifications

Epic certification or experience leading Epicrelated initiatives
PMP or equivalent project management certification
Experience supporting Digital Health, bedside technology, or patient experience initiatives
Experience working in pediatric or academic medical center environments
